Biography

Richard Youatt - American University of Armenia Corporation

Richard Youatt was born in England in 1949. He has a degree in Sociology from the University of Sussex, and a graduate degree in International Studies from the Institut Europeen des Hautes Etudes Internationales in Nice , France. He worked as a tour guide for American Leadership Study Groups for several summers introducing many US students to Western Europe, before moving to California in the early 1970's. In the US he has worked in academia, government and the private sector, including 5 years in IBM's Language Products Division. He has a Master's degree in Computer Science, and wrote a thesis on Multilingual Information Processing. He is currently employed as Operations Manager by the American University of Armenia Corporation, and is the US project leader of the Digital Library project for Armenian Classical Literature. He also provides technical and organizational assistance to the National Standards body of the Republic of Armenia and its software development communities.
