Ienup Sung - Sun Microsystems, Inc.
Mr. Ienup Sung has been working for Sun Microsystems, Inc. since 1992.
In those years, he has been actively involved and leading in many projects
like Solaris X11R5/R6 XIM development projects, SunOS 5.6 Codeset
Independence (CSI) project, Solaris Unicode locale creation and development
projects, and other Solaris internationalization and localization projects
since Solaris 2.1. He also worked on X/Open CAE Specification: Layout Services
specification work and its prototype project at CDE/Motif 1.0 for
the support of bidi- and context-sensitive languages. During the first eight
months of 1997, he also briefly worked for Server Globalization Technology
group of Oracle Corp. on Oracle8 RDBMS NLS issues.
Prior to Sun, he worked at TriGem Computer, Inc. and Human Computers, Inc. at
Korea a few years as a technical lead to develop Computerized Typesetting
System and also to port an existing Hangul desktop publishing system from
MSFT-Windows environment to Unix/X/Motif environment. During that time he
designed and developed Win32 and Graphics Device Interface (GDI) emulation
libraries and various device drivers including PostScript printer
drivers by using X/Motif/PostScript with C/C++ languages.
He received his M.S. in Computer Science from Korea Advanced Institute of
Science and Technology (KAIST) and B.S. in Computer Science from Hankuk
University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), Korea. His major was parallel
computation in object-oriented language system virtual machine on
distributed operating system.
