Localising your product is no longer enough in today's business environment.
If you want success in terms of time to market, customer satisfaction and
cost-effectiveness, you have to internationalise - i.e. plan and develop for
the international market from day one of the product cycle. But
internationalising means much more than choosing encodings and tweaking
code.
This entertaining but informative talk uses examples to help you
appreciate the range of practical issues you are likely to face in
developing user interfaces or user information for global audiences. It
also drives home the imperative to address those issues early on in the
design and development of your product. These are topics that will directly
affect business success for your product, and the message is one for
managers, planners, designers and developers - not localisers!
